KeyLogic Continues IRS Support with EDS
KeyLogic Systems, as
part of a team led by EDS, is supporting the Internal Revenue Service’s
(IRS’s) Offshore Credit Card Project (OCCP) under a contract awarded by the
agency’s Office of Information Technology through the Total Information
Processing Support Services (TIPSS-3) contract. With this new award,
KeyLogic and EDS will provide OCCP development, implementation and
maintenance services through October 2007.
KeyLogic has been the
sole contractor providing database development, implementation and
maintenance support for the OCCP web-based data mining application since its
inception in 2003. The application is developed in ASP.NET and C#, and
contains scripts that perform complicated queries of the information
contained in the database. The data compiled by these queries aids the IRS
in recognizing credit card data spending patterns and identifying viable
candidates for case development and subsequent investigations. These
investigations identify fraudulent activities and persons and develop
supplemental background information that can be used to support criminal or
civil actions. The goal is to identify more than 4,000 taxpayers for case
building through the OCCP.
KeyLogic, a Microsoft
Certified solutions provider, began supporting the IRS in 2003 when
Microsoft approached the company for a pilot project to analyze credit card
account numbers provided by the agency. Our data mining grid assessment
targeted suspicious actions and spending patterns, resulting in identifying
over 20,000 leads and subsequent investigations that enabled the IRS to
collect more than $75 million.
