KeyLogic Awarded Reporting Services
Contract by EPA’s Office of Water
IT services firm
KeyLogic Systems has been awarded a new operations and maintenance support
contract by the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Ground
Water and Drinking Water (OGWDW). KeyLogic will continue its longstanding
relationship with the agency by supporting the Safe Drinking Water
Information System – Federal (SDWIS/FED) Reporting Services (RS)
application. KeyLogic will maintain the Microsoft SQL Server-based SDWIS/FED
RS application, develop and deploy new reports, and potentially develop new
management reporting capabilities, making use of the agency’s Lotus Notes
environment. The initial contract is for one year, but includes options for
two additional years that would continue work through 2010 with a total
contract value of more than $600,000.
The EPA’s OGWDW has
oversight responsibility for the Public Water Supply Supervision program,
which includes developing data management systems to facilitate electronic
data exchange and integration among the U.S. states and the EPA’s regional
offices. SDWIS/FED is a national database storing information about more
than 155,000 public water systems (PWS) nationwide, including violation data
and records of enforcement actions taken to restore compliance. The PWS
information EPA collects and retains is required by the 1974 Safe Water
Drinking Act.
The EPA uses the information reported to SDWIS/FED to oversee state drinking
water programs, take enforcement action where needed, and prepare national
reports. The OGWDW also uses this information to evaluate the effectiveness
of its programs and regulations, and to assist in the determination of new
regulations.
The
EPA is KeyLogic’s largest and longest-standing customer. KeyLogic personnel
have been supporting the EPA for nearly 20 years, and supporting the Office
of Water (OW) since 2005. Through the delivery of high quality products and
services, KeyLogic has enabled the EPA to receive “green” ratings on their
President’s Management Agenda (PMA) scorecards, a Presidential Quality Award
for Improved Financial Management (Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO)),
and a Government Computer News (GCN) Agency Achievement Award for Innovative
Technology (OCFO).
