Bon Voyage: Carl Butler Retires to
Live His Dreams, Sail the World
In
April, KeyLogic said goodbye to Carl Butler as he retired and moved to
beautiful, sunny Florida. Carl, who was KeyLogic’s third-longest
tenured employee and first retiree, set a high standard for accepting and
conquering numerous challenges. He held several positions at KeyLogic,
including Facility Security Officer and Technical Director of the Portfolio
& Performance Management Strategic Business Unit, and supported a number of
our Federal government customers, such as General Services Administration
(GSA) and the Department of Labor (DOL). In 2004, Carl received the
annual KeyLogic “Dragon Slayer” award for his outstanding service and
dedication to his projects and customers.
Staff from the DC Metro area held
a party for Carl, and employees, friends and family came together in
Morgantown for a final farewell. Messages and guests flooded in from
around the country, and Carl’s fiancée, Carrie, was flown in from Florida
for a surprise visit.

Carl and
Carrie were married May 20th and share their dream of sailing the world.
Carl, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and a member of the U.S. Navy and
Navy Reserves, moved onto Carrie’s sailboat in Ft. Myers, Florida, and
together they have shared a number of adventures sailing up the Atlantic
Coast to Maryland for a fall visit. Future adventures may include a
trip through Central America and along the Pacific Coast to Alaska.

KeyLogic congratulates Carl and is forever-grateful for all he contributed
to the company’s success. We look forward to following his new journeys on
the “Mo chuisle”
(pictured below) and
sharing in the realization of his incredible dream.
