DISA Conferences Discuss Critical Issues, Build
Relationships
This spring, as part of
their Mentor-Protégé partnership with Northrop Grumman and their
long-standing relationship with DISA, KeyLogic attended two Partnership
Conferences geared at bringing the agency, its contractors and its customers
together to discuss the critical issues facing our nation and to further the
relationships among the groups.
The first, the
Mentor-Protégé (MP) Conference, was held in March in Temecula, CA with the
theme “Building Strategic Partnerships for National Defense.” This year’s
conference set a record with more than 550 participants, with attendees
including DoD Directors of Services, Military Services and other Defense
Agency Program Managers, as well as large (Mentors) and small (Protégés)
defense contractors. Highlights included a Keynote Address from The
Honorable Dr. James I. Finley, Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for
Acquisition and Technology, the prestigious Nunn-Perry awards (presented to
Mentor-Protégé teams), and more than 50 speakers discussing topics such as
government regulatory changes, innovative partnering, and the importance of
technology to small business growth and warfighter requirements.
The Customer Partnership
Conference and Technology Exposition, held in early May at the Opryland
Resort in Nashville, TN and sponsored by the Armed Forces Communications
Electronics Association (AFCEA), surrounded the theme
“Connected at the Speed of
Innovation.” The annual event offers information sessions that provide a
forum for
questions,
concerns and problem resolution, with this year’s topics including
operational superiority, innovative
technologies and
initiatives, spectrum issues, planning and management, and net-centricity.
The Plenary Session included a briefing from Lieutenant General Charles E.
Croom, Jr. (pictured above) that focused on information sharing, operational
effectiveness and meeting DISA’s important mission – delivering capabilities
to our nation’s warfighters.
KeyLogic is proud to
support to DISA’s mission and our nation’s defense and is excited to further
develop our relationships with both the agency and Northrop Grumman as a
participant in the DoD Mentor-Protégé program.
