Sponsors Earth Day Event for Local Children
KeyLogic and the Environmental Protection Agency have had a long and
mutually productive business relationship. Through numerous IT contracts,
KeyLogic has become intimately familiar with the mission and goals of the
EPA. In order to further strengthen the bond between EPA and to support its
crucial mission, KeyLogic recently sponsored an Earth Day contest.
The 5th
grade students of Riverside Elementary School were given the opportunity to
submit a drawing of “What Earth Day Means to Me”. The students were very
excited about the opportunity and KeyLogic received 29 pictures that showed
a true representation of what the students felt was the meaning and spirit
behind Earth Day.
KeyLogic employees chose a winner from the submissions and created a t-shirt
with the original drawing by Devon Cunningham. Devon received a $250 U.S.
Savings Bond and a $100 gift certificate to Books-A-Million for winning the
contest. During the presentation with KeyLogic employees on Earth Day,
t-shirts with Devon’s artwork on the back and the motto “Empowering Better
Decisions for a Cleaner Environment” were distributed to the entire 5th
grade class, along with environmentally-themed activity books, Northern Red
Oak tree saplings and pamphlets with simple ideas about how they can help
keep the environment clean.
“We are proud to support the
mission of the EPA and give back to our community with this program,” said
KeyLogic President Jon Hammock. “It is important to instill a sense of
responsibility in our youth, and programs like this allow us the opportunity
to do just that.”
