KeyLogic Systems was
recently awarded a second task order under the Defense Information Systems
Agency (DISA) Global Enterprise Management Support (GEMS) contract to provide
program management support for the Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration
(ACTD) program.
The GEMS contract is
designed to give DOD, DISA and other federal agencies easy access to qualified
contractors in the areas of IT program management support, verification
and validation of engineering solutions, and information technology services.
KeyLogic is one of four companies qualified to compete under this contract.
This task order represents KeyLogic's second award under GEMS, having been
awarded a previous task order which also calls for ACTD program management
support.
"We're charged with
supporting the release of the latest technologies to the theaters of warfare.
We'll be heavily involved in the demonstrations to evaluate military utilization
of these products and systems," said KeyLogic Task Order Manager, Carl Butler.
In 1994, the ACTD program
was initiated by DOD to help expedite the transition of maturing technologies
from the developers to the end users. ACTDs emphasize technology assessment
and integration rather than technology development, with the goal being
to provide a prototype capability to warfighters and to support them in
the evaluation of that capability.
KeyLogic, along with
subcontractor CALIBRE, will provide program management support services
for the full life cycle of Command and Control ACTDs. The DISA office that
KeyLogic supports is responsible for planning and executing ACTDs and other
C4I (command, control, communications, computers and intelligence) demonstrations,
involving DOD components as well as coalition organizations requiring significant
cross-domain expertise. The team's previous task order award was with another
DISA office, supporting a similar mission. The two tasks combined have a
total estimated award value of approximately $6 Million.
