February 27, 2003---Once
again KeyLogic Systems will be creating more jobs in areas that need them
most, thanks to the General Services Administration (GSA) and a new contract.
KeyLogic Systems has
recently been awarded the first Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC)
dedicated to information technology firms certified as Historically Underutilized
Business Zones (HUBZones), the GSA HUBZone Information Technology GWAC.
Managed by GSA, the
five-year contract enables federal agencies to purchase information technology
products and services from pre-qualified IT companies. The contract awards
cover seven functional areas with approximately nine awards in each area.
The maximum ceiling of the total contract is $2.5 billion.
The HUBZone Program
promotes job opportunities in areas of high unemployment. This new contract
is expected to help agencies better meet their HUBZone goals, which are
3% of all federal procurement dollars, totaling over $6 billion.
"Agencies have had challenges
finding capable technology firms to support their missions. This contract
changes all of that," says Cary Landis, KeyLogic Vice President. Cary also
serves on the Board of Directors for the National HUBZone Council, which
was created to further the HUBZone Empowerment Contracting Program.
KeyLogic's contract
award was in functional area three which provides data warehousing and data
processing services. KeyLogic's subcontractors on this contract include:
Microsoft, SAIC, ATS, CALIBRE, ICF, COMSO, GSN, Tygart, and TMC.
KeyLogic Systems specializes
in Knowledge Management and e-Government solutions that enable better business
decisions for more successful organizations. KeyLogic is headquartered in
Morgantown, WV with several regional offices throughout the US, including
Washington, DC.
