KeyLogic
Helps EPA Win Prestigious Presidential Award
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
was recently awarded the 2003 Presidential Quality Award for Management
Excellence for "exemplary performance and results in the area of Improved
Financial Performance." Organizations selected for this recognition serve as
role models and benchmarks for other organizations to attain similar
success.
KeyLogic Systems provides the EPA with the technology that helps the agency
maintain leadership in this arena. With the use of KeyLogic's Budget
Automation System (BAS), the EPA can track multiple budget elements and
hundreds of thousands of individual line items in real time. This allows any
detail of the agency's $8 billion budget to be viewed at will by individual,
team or central review oversight and auditing personnel. Budget allocations,
actual spending and declining balances by category or line item are now a
simple matter of accounting "by the numbers." BAS provides EPA officials
with a decision-support tool that facilitates informed business decisions -
resulting in better performance, higher quality and increased value of their
actions.
BAS' creative approach supports the EPA's
efforts to comply with the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA).
GPRA is a performance yardstick designed to help the agency connect their
resources, objectives and tracking and reporting responsibilities within
their annual, strategic fiscal planning.
"KeyLogic is extremely proud that our
partnership with EPA has enabled them to meet the President's Management
Agenda practices", says Jon Hammock, President of KeyLogic Systems. "The
EPA's mission is critical, and we are pleased to be able to help ensure the
dollars they spend are effective, efficient and correspond with their
goals."
