Hammock Meets with
Senator Rockefeller
On
Wednesday May 18th, KeyLogic President and CEO Jon Hammock
met with West Virginia Senator John D. “Jay” Rockefeller IV (D) in his
Washington D.C. office to celebrate Hammock’s Small Business Person of
the Year Award and discuss the impact small businesses have on the
economy of the state and our nation.
Rockefeller has served the state of West Virginia for over 30 years. He
has served in the House of Delegates, as Secretary of State and
Governor, and has represented the state in the U.S. Senate for 21
years. He currently serves as the Vice Chairman for the Select
Committee on Intelligence and is a member of the committees for
Veteran’s Affairs, Finance, Taxation and Commerce, Science and
Transportation.
Hammock is a West Virginia native and a first-generation graduate of
West Virginia University. After working for Westinghouse and Marada and
earning his MBA from the University of South Carolina, Hammock returned
to West Virginia to build a company in his home state and provide
technology jobs to his fellow citizens. For his efforts and the success
KeyLogic has achieved in the government market, Hammock was named the
West Virginia Small Business Person of the Year for 2004. He was
presented with his national award during the SBA Awards Gala on April 28
in Washington D.C. and was recognized by the state during the West
Virginia Conference on Entrepreneurship on May 12.
During the meeting, Rockefeller and Hammock discussed the role small
businesses play within the government market and how they are changing
because of inflation, our nation’s presence in the Middle East and the
record-setting national deficit. They also discussed the HUBZone
program, of which KeyLogic is a proud participant, and the jobs it
creates for the areas of our nation that need them most.
