KeyLogic Honored as one of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies
Inc. magazine, the premier publication for small and medium-sized businesses
has released the 23rd annual Inc. 500 ranking of the
fastest-growing private companies in the country. KeyLogic Systems, Inc., a
Morgantown-based Information Technology (IT) firm, was ranked #316 on the
list, with a four-year average annual sales growth of 115.7%.
The Inc. 500 special issue appeared on newsstands October 26 and
will be on display until December 21, with Inc.com releasing the complete
list of winners online November 22.
The
companies that made this list have thrived despite continued stagnation in
the economy, and while the United States reported a loss of 410,000 jobs in
2003, Inc. 500 companies provided employment for more than 70,000 people.
Including KeyLogic Systems, this year’s list features 102 firms that began
in 1999 and weathered the start-up costs of the overcapitalized boom and
thrived during the impending bust that was one of the toughest periods for
young companies in recent memory.
Inc. 500 ranks privately held companies according to averaged sales growth
during the past four years. With approximately 75% of all new job creation
in the U.S. coming from small businesses, the Inc. 500 is a discerning
indicator of the companies and industries that are driving the economy
forward. IT Service companies, such as KeyLogic, are projected to
experience the most corporate growth during the upcoming year.
KeyLogic Systems, Inc. specializes in Knowledge Management, including
Business Intelligence, Systems Integration, Forensic Accounting and Earned
Value Management, which enables their customers to make better, more
informed decisions regarding their current goals and requirements. KeyLogic
provides these specialties to federal government agencies including the
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Defense (DoD), U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Internal Revenue
Service (IRS). KeyLogic is a Small Business Administration (SBA) certified
HUBZone firm, a contracting designation given to companies who strive to
promote economic growth by providing employment in distressed areas.
KeyLogic is one of only 11 West Virginia firms to be named to this list
since its inception in 1982. They are the third company in Morgantown to
receive this honor, joining March-Westin Co., Inc. (1989 - #133, 1990 -
#344) and Azimuth (1998 - #387).
In
addition to Inc 500, KeyLogic has received numerous other awards, including
being ranked 27th overall and 7th among IT providers
on Washington Technology magazine’s 2004 “Fast 50” list, which honors the 50
fastest-growing small businesses working in the government contracting
market. KeyLogic’s Budget Automation System (BAS) enabled the EPA to win
the 2003 President’s Award for Management Excellence in the area of Improved
Financial Performance and a 2004 Government Computer News magazine Agency
Achievement Award, and our technical leadership aided the U.S. Army Records
Management and Declassification Agency in receiving the 2004 Archivist
Achievement Award. Most recently, KeyLogic was honored with a West Virginia
Business Environmental Leadership Award in the category of “Innovative
Technology” for their work with the eFacts system that supports the EPA’s
Superfund program.
Previous Inc. 500 winners include Microsoft, one of KeyLogic’s strategic
partners, The Princeton Review, E* Trade and Domino’s Pizza.
